The sky suddenly seemed to darken for a moment, and a lightening bolt shot to earth beyond the mountains. The weather in these lands could change in an instant, and so this was not unusual, yet it still startled Storm enough to make him leap forward with a jolt of surprise. Rhea was flying ahead of him, and it came to him at once that the race had begun. With little care for the change in weather, Storm shot after her with speed, soon finding himself at her heels. It felt wonderful to be running again, and it felt so much better with a friend. The bay stallion tossed his head and neighed with joy. He turned his dial for a brief moment and looked at the darkened sky behind him, the forest now tinted with a shadow that had not been there before.
But no matter. Storm turned again and galloped side by side with Rhea for a few moments, before pulling ahead for just a second before returning to her side. He knew that this was not the fastest he had run, for in truth, that could only be measured if he was running for his life.

the banshee raced across the turf with heart, speed, and pure joy. even though it would slow her she bucked playfully at storm not at all meaning to even kick him at all. as she straightened out herself more her strides lengthened and she was going at a graceful yet flaring swift pace seeing the stag beside her she wondered if this really was a race? more like a run. yes a run. it didn't matter it wasn't to win only for joy and happiness. she slowed but enough to stay beside the warlock. her eleagnt gait continued never slowing and never weakening. snowy tassels whipped behind her and her flaxen pelt shimered from a thin layer of sweat and the bright shines of lightning
